Two Center Students Receive International Fellowship Support

We are pleased to announce that Fulbright fellowships have been awarded to two UICB students.  Following completion of her MFA in May of 2015, Steph Rue will travel to South Korea to investigate the history and technique of Korean book arts with a special emphasis on Korean papermaking.  Rue will also host a workshop, travel extensively, and continue her own book art production during the trip. Clare Jones earned an MFA from the Iowa Writers' Workshop and a Certificate from the UICB in May of 2014.  Jones' research will focus on poetry writing and publishing related to the impact of global warming in the Pacific. Her goal is to use this Fulbright research to help a more global audience appreciate the true nature of ongoing changes to the planet caused by humans. Special congratulations to these two ambassadors who will soon be representing the UICB and all of us in the book arts community!
