UICB Faculty to Teach in Hands On Medieval Seminar

Jon Wilcox, Chair of the English Department, and four Center for the Book faculty—Tim Barrett, Cheryl Jacobsen, Julie Leonard and Sara Sauers—will host a special 2015 summer seminar on medieval book production technologies. Wilcox and the UICB won a coveted NEH award to support the project. The goal of the session is to help sixteen scholars gain a deeper understanding of the history and interpretation of texts through hands on experiences with parchment and papermaking, lettering arts, and book binding.  Participants in the seminar will come from across the country to take part.
