Adjunct Assistant Professor, papermaking

My background is in graphic design and I have loved paper as a material since I was little. Combining paper with my digital work was something that added more excitement to my work on the screen. After years of study and work in the field of graphic design, digital video and animation, I decided to travel and explore paper and papermakers in other parts of the world. In 2009 I happened to meet Timothy Barrett who introduced me to the program at the University of Iowa's Center for the Book. I enrolled in 2011, and received my MFA in 2014.

After that, I worked at the Morgan Conservatory in Cleveland, Ohio as their Lead Production Papermaker and Studio Coordinator. I made papers in the Western and Japanese and Korean styles, taught classes and got the opportunity to create their Artist in Residence program.

After working at the Morgan part-time and teach papermaking workshops around the U.S. part-time, I moved to Iowa City to teach papermaking at the UICB. Apart from teaching at the Center, I enjoy making letterpress printed artist books for which I occasionally make the paper.
